Youth Sunday School Classes

The Junior High Class - Room 107
Uses an informal and upbeat format for presenting biblical principals. Dedicated class leaders and students participate in discussions, lectures, interactive activities and multi-media presentations using music and videos. Our format allows us to learn, worship and pray together. The goal of our class is to bring about a real awareness of God in our lives and His unfailing love for us. Grades 7th, 8th and 9th.

The Senior High Class Youth Rooms-Room 155
Uses a seminar/discussion format to explore biblically based topics. Our adult leader, with input from the class, selects interesting and thought provoking series (usually a 6-8 week study) from Cokesbury’s materials for young adults. Consistent adult leadership throughout the year promotes a close and secure environment for spiritual growth and development. Grades 10th, 11th and 12th.

Children’s Sunday School Classes

Because our children’s first Christian steps are so important, we have carefully designed our Sunday School program to nurture and teach all the children at St. James United Methodist Church.

Each week age appropriate Bible lessons are taught, using music and songs, books and stories, arts and crafts. We are blessed with loving and dedicated teachers, several of whom have taught for over 20 years! Our teachers strive to know each child and their family, thus strengthening the bond between church and home.

Older children joyfully participate with their classes and families in many St. James mission projects. As members of the God Squad, our 5th and 6th graders enjoy monthly social and service outings.

We start our children off by teaching them “Jesus Loves Me’ and send them into the teenage years secure in the knowledge that Jesus and their church loves them.
