There are a number of opportunities for men at St. James to become engaged in groups providing a service to others or in individual spiritual growth.

SMALL GROUPS MEETING WEEKLY
Monday - Men’s Prayer Breakfast beginning at 6:30 am in the church kitchen/Fellowship Hall. Light breakfast, fellowship, and intercessory prayer for concerns of church members, their families and friends. For information contact Bob Cunningham at verdbob2@bellsouth.net or (404) 255-6226.
Tuesday - Businessmen’s Fellowship meets from 7:00 to 8:30 am in the church kitchen/Fellowship Hall. Men of various occupations and ages gather for light breakfast, fellowship and informal discussion of contemporary subjects affecting contemporary living and topics from the Bible or other Christian writings. Thursday – Businessmen’s Fellowship(evening addition) meets from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Conference Room. SPECIAL EVENTS
Annual Fall Kickoff Steak Dinner sponsored by the St. James Businessmen’s Fellowship. This year the event will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009. All men of the church and their friends and neighbors are invited. Watch for further announcements soon.
Annual Men’s Spiritual Retreat sponsored by North Georgia Conference United Methodist Men. Since 1961, 800 to 1200 men have gathered at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, Georgia, on the last full weekend on September. Event begins on Friday afternoon and concludes on Sunday morning. In 2009 the dates are September 25-27. Overnight accommodations are in cabins on site. Full weekend costs, including meals and lodging, is $150, with other plans available for shorter stays. BE ACTIVE IN A MINISTRY

Boy Scout Troop 370 – Teach information for a merit badge to 11-18 year old scouts. Materials and training provided.
Habitat for Humanity – Participate in building a home.
Atlanta Urban Ministries – Coordinate a food drive to collect canned food and deliver to Grace Memorial UMC near Piedmont Park.
Buckhead Christian Ministries – Work as a volunteer doing client intake, stocking shelves in the food pantry, working in the Thrift Store on Piedmont Road, or in many other capacities.
Activities Ministries – Join a team or organize one to play in a co-ed volleyball or men’s basketball league. Coach youth basketball or soccer. Serve on the Activities Ministries Committee. Contact Elizabeth Johnson, Activities Director for additional information.
Youth Ministries – Serve as a youth counselor or help organize an activity or trip for the church Youth Group. Contact the Youth Director for additional information.
