Student Ministry

The Youth Ministry at St. James UMC is beginning to meet in person again! For the first time since late December, the health and welfare committee of our church has deemed it safe enough for small groups to gather on campus. We will begin by having just Sunday night youth group meet on the lawn of the church from 5:30-6:30pm on Sunday Nights! I hope that you will help spread the word!

Confirmation and youth Sunday school will still be meeting on Zoom from 9:45-10:45 of Sunday mornings.

Confirmation Sunday will occur on May 23rd! Go ahead and mark your calendars! We will have an online form of the service and a tentative in-person service. Further details will be coming as the date nears!

Summer is right around the corner! This Summer the youth group will go tubing in Helen, attend a Braves game, visit St. Simons Island on a Beach trip, and more! That said, we are always looking for adults of all ages to help out in any way they can! We always need chaperones and volunteers to help behind the scenes in pulling off our programming events! If you are ever interested in volunteering or have any questions, please email

Lastly, please join me in continuing to lift up the students (and their parents) at St. James in prayer. These students and their parents have spent the last year with much uncertainty surrounding virtual or in-person school schedules and many have missed out on their own sporting events and other extra-curricular activities. I hope that you will specifically lift up the youth as you remember the people of St. James in your prayers!
