HABITAT BUILD

From Jim Branan: “I’m excited to announce that St. James UMC – Atlanta is participating in our 29^th annual Atlanta Habitat for Humanity build! When we partner with Atlanta Habitat, we join them as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization by building quality, affordable homes. We are creating opportunities for working homebuyer families to thrive and to achieve many other dreams. Please consider joining us by volunteering on one of our build days below!”

Build Dates and Time

Build days are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, except for a half-day on Sept 23. Please commit to helping for the full build day. It’s important to arrive on time to unload the truck and stay to clean up.

Build Day 7: Saturday, Sept 16  Complete exterior painting, install baseboards, window sills, doorknobs
Build Day 8: Saturday, Sept 23  Miscellaneous touch-up/clean-up tasks, landscaping, Dedication!

Build Location: 955 Hubbard St SW, Atlanta, GA

Register for the Build: You must register for the build through Atlanta Habitat’s site below in-order-to participate. Please register at least one week in advance.  Preferably, please let me know you registered and I’ll confirm it shows! CLICK to Register

All volunteers are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination after you register. You’ll receive a link to upload proof of vaccine during the registration process.

Would you like to bring guests? Feel free to invite family and friends to participate on the build as well! Each person must register online individually. The minimum volunteer age is 16-years-old.

Other Information About the Build

• Water, snacks, and lunch will be provided, as well as all necessary tools and supplies. If you’d like to bring your own tools, feel free to do so. It is highly recommended to bring your own gloves. No personal power tools will be allowed.
• Volunteers of all skill levels and experience are encouraged to attend! Atlanta Habitat has highly trained leaders on site to help teach you the skills you need.
• Atlanta Habitat builds rain or shine! Please make sure to dress accordingly for the build day. Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Please remember to hydrate well several daysbefore the build.
