Andrew Schmidt

Through the joy of making music, teaching and sharing his love of music with others, Andrew has been called from his home state of Illinois to Washington, New Jersey, New Mexico, Georgia, and even Estonia to live and work through the transformative power of singing with others.

He holds degrees in Choral Music Education and Choral Conducting after attending Northwestern University, The University of Washington and Georgia State University. A lover of community music, Andrew has directed numerous adult choirs like the Sangre di Cristo Chorale of New Mexico, the New South Festival Singers, the Summer Singers, and Voces Altum of Atlanta. He also has extensive experience in the public and private schools, plus as a university-level educator.

Andrew lives in Decatur with his husband, Cory, and their two dogs, Atticus and Pickles.
